Throttle Posistion sensor adjustment
I tried this over the weekend and found out two things.
1. I had a bad TPS sensor as it wouldnt even go up to 3 Volts on WOT no matter how hard or how far I twisted. even with it off.
2. Sorensen ( AutoZone, Advanced etc ) sells a replacement TPS sensor
that is FULLY adjustable. It has oval shaped slots where the screw go.
3. The service manual list anything over .80 volts at idle to be incorrect.
I'm not sure how this plays into the .45 volt listed in the thread.
I did notice a difference after I installed the sensor. Ofcourse, mine was out of spec anyway.

That is interesting on the replacement TPS sensor at Autozone. Is it for a wide range of GM cars? or just 3800 powered? Because, it might be adjustable so it can fit all the more cars. I doubt it is adjustable for the "perfect tune" aspect, but anything is possible.

I'm not sure why. It'* obviously made to be adjustable though. It may be the aftermarkets way of trying to take into account all the production differences.

Sport and a 1992 SSEI Bonneville that both seem to have the same TPS sensor.
As far as I can tell, after much reading, it seems like the sensor is just looking for a range of voltages. So ... anything below .80 volts is idle, while anything over like ..
3.8 volts is WOT.
