Personally, my statement is to leave it in. It may be fine to remove it on a stock engine but tuning becomes more difficult without it even with slight mods . I flow more air than anyone here, save BADSSEi, and it has not been a restriction to me.
If it works for you not to have it in, great but I suggest trying it both ways if your modded and scan the car.

Any idea if I can get just the screen from a dealership, as I have been wanting to test and see what my milage would be with and without the screen using my intake... Yes I did break mine..

I thought I saw somebody on here that claimed the only way to get a screen is in a complete TB. I wouldn't know for sure though.
We don't just need mileage tests of this.... it seems that somebody should do dyno pulls with and without the screen. My car seems to run great without the screen, but I have to wonder if some cylinders are getting less air than others. Is there any practical way to test this?

A simple run at the track could tell you if you are or aren't doing better. Could it be smoother with it in? I'm sure of that, but it may be smooth enough after we're used to having it out for us to think nothing is wrong.

Runs at the track would have to be done on the same day to ensure (almost) identical conditions as well as allowing enough time to let the PCM learn any changes. Autotapping would be a better way to research this, which I'd like to do but its hard for me not to damage the screen when I remove it. For now, and probably a very long time, my screen stays in. Personal choice, no real proof of this having a benefit.

My feelings on the screen are that low end torque suffers a little with it in. Top end gets a little inconsistent due to inaccurate/fluctuating MAF readings with it out. It'* in because of my 90 miles of highway travel a day for more passing power.

More hp means more air is being flowed (of course timing, fuel, etc... are related as well, but for the most part whoever is makeing more power is flowing more air), and I have a feeling the GTP gained more than 7whp from the extra 6 degrees timing, .1" drop in puolley size, and XP cam... I could be wrong but I think its pretty much gotta be flowing AT LEAST as much air as your SSEi. Not that I'm disagreeing with you about the screen, because it hasn't seemed to make a difference either way to me.
