Default taking resonator off

i have an 02 stocl bonnie......would it mess anything up if i replaced the resonator with a pipe? Will it sound better or will i notice anything different? Will it throw any codes?

whoops..I thought you said CAT...yeah your ok to remove the resonator.....Its not really a restriction though.

hans, it is not illegal to run without a resonator.. you are thinking a cat

it will just get loud and raspy

If everything else is OEM, not bad at all. My guess would be hardly noticeable...

has anyone done it? If so do u have any clips? What do u think it would sound like if i added some a-market mufflers?

this is my SE with no resontor, high flow cat, ported exhaust manifolds, and stock muffler. yours would be a little quiter since you have 2 mufflers

My 93 came from the factory with no resonator. After the high-flow cat and Muffler swap, I ADDED a Magnaflow resonator. The drone at 2000 rpm'* cruising was nearly deafening, and it was raspy on throttle let-off.

Since the resonator isn't a performance restriction, I'd say leave it be.
