You can reuse the old one, I've been swaping back and forth a few times already and still have the original gasket. I do have spare though in case it gets torn

It is a seperate O-Ring and is reusable. On the 96-99'* they also used a gasket between the intake and the t-stat housing. This was removed for the 00+ models.

I dont know if I should be concerned but when I changed my T-stat to a 180 there was no paper gasket there with the 195, just the rubber O-ring. Infact when I bought it at autozone I asked if there was a paper gasket that I needed with the stat and o-ring and they told me no. I guess Im alright because Im not leaking any coolant from the housing.
