Default Cleaning Fuel injectors on 00 SSEi

Hey guys need your help here. Was wondering whats the best way to clean a set of injectors? I was told the fuel injector cleaner found at your local autozone was more of a preventative measure for "already clean" injectors. So how do you clean them?

I actually built a "kit" that would backflush the injectors using a fuel pump and some plastic tubing. I caught the fluid output in a coffee filter and could easily see the results. That'* my EXTREME way.

Other more common, less expensive solution would be to spend a couple dollars on a bottle of STP fuel injector cleaner. Or take it to the dealer and they have bigger toys to play with that can clean them. But for the price, I think its not worth it.

Are you having performance issues?

Sort of. this is just my next thing to do on my long list of possible fixes for my dreaded P0171 code issue. No real big performance issue as of yet. Pulsating idle on occassion when sitting at stop lights. Same issue on occassion when starting cold, but then it pans ou after a few seconds..

It was mainly an experiment using old injectors, and I had used leftover Seafoam and then some paint thinner lol.

There is a guy that has posted extensively in the past about taking your fuel injectors, doing a tear-down cleaning of them, replacing any o-rings, ect., and "matching them", replacing any out of variance with others that he has on hand. Does anybody remember here remember who this is and how I can get in contact with him?

My car is running and idling rough, I have 158K on the car, and it'* probably due to fuel injectors. It'* one of the only things left that I haven't done to the car. Any help would be appreciated.

You can only "Match" injectors if you have more then one set.

Doing a flow match isn't worth the effort on a stock set up.
