The G tech power meter?! It'* a pretty cool little design. You plug it in to your cigarette lighter in your car and mount it to the widshield. It is able to measure HP 1/4 miles ET and 0-60 time as well as 60-0 braking time and G forces. It has a silicone chip in it that detects G force so it knows when you move and when you are at a certain speed. No need to tap into the car. Its a portable dyno!! It costs 140 on most web sites but I got it new on ebay for 109.95! I can't wait. Ive heard all good things about it. Apparently its really accurate!! I'm anxious to try it out.

First of all, it is more expensive, which indicates it works better because more research and development went into the design. Second, the chip incorporates the computer code. It knows exactly what the stock car is capable of and it improves upon this. Third, jet only works at WOT while superchip works throughout all rpm ranges. Last, the cooler thermostat that is pretty much required by jet helps jet'* reputation. Superchip does not recommend or even tell us to get a cooler thermostat. That means that superchip works better rather than cheating by using a thermostat.

I think superchip is the best buy and thats what I went with. And superchip is also plug and play. You remove the old chip and add the new one, simple as that.
Oh, contraire, mon ami. Jet doesn't work ONLY at WOT. It works throughout the RPM band at any throttle value. The reason the Stage 2 chip requires intake and exhaust, is so that the chips programming can take advantage of these mods. Maybe the stage1 chip only works a WOT, but not the II. The Jet is also plug and play, and instead of replacing your chip, it piggybacks. The 1993 and Older Bonnevilles don't have the factory computer code that you're talking about, so the Superchip can't be programmed for my car. Jet also adjusts shift points and firmness. We could go round and round, which wouldn't get us anywhere. Best thing to do is see how we like 'em and pass it along. The only reason I'm leaning towards Jet, is that I now know 3 Bonnie owners who are unhappy with their Superchips. Hope I'm not that way with the Jet

Default chips ahoy

well i`ve done a bit more diggin` on the Jet hp claim, GET ME MATLOCK, geeezzzzzzzzz according to the boys at the speed shop here, the`ve done a bonnie with jet stg2 hell all i got was a 12hp increase but oh i`ll take 12hp over nothing so i think in all i`ve gain`d maybe 75 hp don`t know for sure till i can hook it up to the dyno then the truth will be out.+++++++96+we`ll see if the company`* hp claims stack up to the real world

I had a superchip in my truck *cough*FORD*cough* and I was able to tell the difference. Never had it dynoed, and always had to use the high octane gas.

When I did the research on the chips, Jet does work at different RPM levels, but superchips works at more levels than Jet. Plus that fact that Superchip makes it computer specific and jet was generic for a few YEARS of the vehicle.

Most of that depends on the age, and therefore the type of PCM/ECM. I know what my performance times were before the chip, so we'll see the after!

I think superchip is gonna be better for driveability. I don't want to have to pin the throttle to feel the chip. I was told that Jet'* chip relies on the cooler thermostat to work throughout the rpm range. So basically, its not the chip doing all the work, the thermostat can be given some of the credit. I think we will definately have to compare the difference between before and after on both vehicles. I'm going to use my g tech performance meter, so it should be pretty exact. Can't wait!!

I'm gonna put some money down that Superchips sends you the incorrect chip for your SSEi, 1983. When I bought mine there were no questions, but it was the wrong adapter with an eprom. I called up multiple times and they said, "Oh sorry, we dont make em for bonnies actually, but we can burn one for your car specifically." I said go for it and they did. Did NOT do what I wanted it to do.

Yes you can feel a slight improvement in the whole rpm range, not just WOT. But I was really ticked about the speed limiter. I lost a race against my friend in his 75 Duster because I expected too much from the chip. Maybe my fault, but Superchips promised too much and didn't deliver. I'm not going to worry about chips unless someone wants to buy mine, then I may consider getting a DHP just to try something different.

I don't know about everyone else, but I have never seen or been in a car with a Superchip and it has improved. Superchips are overrated and don't really do anything. Plus they are horrible and I don't even think they test it on the cars they sell it for. I don't even know how they are still in business. Superchips is just a name, they don't really do anything.

How do you know that it hasn't improved? Did you have the car tested? Also, what kind of car was it for? They claim 20 hp at the wheels for the superchip and I am going to believe it until the chip proves me wrong. I am very optimistic about this chip so I am going to believe it works. Don't rain on my parade until I get the chip and tell you if it works or not.
