supercharging a 00 sle???
Our advice is well-founded in evaluation of the costs of each option represented.
By far the cheapest and most reliable long-term is selling the car with the L36 and buying an SSEi. We don't need the experience to tell us that.
There are several options, given here in order of cost, cheapest to most expensive:
1. Sell the SE/SLE and buy the SSEi.
2. Top swap (only if you have the ability to do the work and tune it yourself).
3. Full swap including engine, trans, PCM, axles, and wiriing harness.
4. ZZP SS M90 kit.
In terms of long-term reliability:
1. Sell the SE/SLE and buy the SSEi.
2. Full drivetrain swap including engine, trans, wiring harness, axles, and PCM.
3. Tied with 4 for the ZZP SS-M90 kit and a top swap, assuming you upgrade the trans at the same time.
4. See number 3.

Your also failing to take in ease of the job at hand and the out of the box performance but I did'nt come to this site to start a debate just to add a little fresh input ,I have been wrenching for 35 years and have some knowledge to share i am open minded about the different suppliers and recognize some of there shortcomings,as far as the ZZP'* M-90 kit I fail to find any major problem with it except the cost of some of the parts you have to give them credit to develop this kit was expensive and time consuming.Chico.

The single biggest bang for your buck on the L36 is to port-match the LIM ports to the head ports. This also gives you a very good opportunity to replace the LIM gaskets with the improved design, upgrade your UIM to prevent failure, and consider losing the DEXcool all at once.
You will absolutely feel the mid-high range pull by doing this somewhat 'free' modification.

Click on 'Search' on the top menu bar (top right). In keywords, type in LIM PORTING and then select Performance and Brainstorming as the search location. You'll get dozens of topics.
Here'* one to get you started. It'* the first publicly known home-ported L36 LIM on this Forum. I'd done a couple L67 LIM'* before I did this one:

About a half dozen members have followed that since then (in the last 6 months or so).
