What is the overall longevity of those "weaker" parts though?
You need a healthy car to start with! Dont mod a problem, and you will be happpy for a long time to come.
Without getting into a debate and hijacking.
Shaun has modded and at a "higher" mileage, however 6K miles is hardly what I'd consider longevity. That is a couple of weeks driving for some members. I'd like to see that car go 30-50K miles and check how the wrist pins etc are holding up.
It'* very possible the parts will hold. However they were designed differently on purpose, maybe it was only overkill. We'll see in enough mileage on these swaps.

who are trying to sell their S2 N/As. for a faster or better performance ride.
My LN3 is an ongoing experiment. I've put almost 20k miles on mine since supercharging, so 171k miles total. Block internals are original to my knowledge except the timing chain, which I replaced because I just felt it needed it. No additional noise or oil consumption (less now since I replaced a couple gaskets including the pan).

HOWEVER, there are dozens of cars on clubgp with M90'* and L36 bottom end. Cars that have been around for years. There are many setups with over 50k on them with the blower with no issues. Zooomer ran his M90'd car to 10.8'* with an L36 bottom end. There are quite a few turbo'ed L36'* in the 10'* with no issues too. There are MANY of them in the 11'* and 12'* daily driven with no issues. This is not a new thing. It seems to just be spreading to the guys who were N/A to being with, but the supercharged guys have been using the L36 bottom ends for more power for a long time.
The whole bottom end of an L36 is forged. The rods are a little lighter and the pistons are different, but they are still forged and still very strong. I don't suspect we'll see too many failures based on what I've seen from L36 bottom ends in the past/present.
I'm also not sure why you're talking about wrist pins here since those are the same from L36 to L67????
