Default Supercharger on 87-91?

Has anyone on here installed a supercharger on a bonneville from these model years? If so how much did it cost you? Could you post pics of your car?

Its cost prohibitive, for reasons a gearhead can explain. However, do a search for "frankenbonne" Awesome build! and easier than boosting an LN3

As I have understood the explanations before, Transaxles are too weak for that (thanks Matt) kinda power, PCM/ECM wont handle or conform to the changes in stock form, and the wiring/plumbing would have to be heavily modified.

FrankenBonne was the answer to all that, total drivetrain from a 97. Its on my list of "I'm gonna do that someday if I ever get around to it" (really not likely though )

From what I remember F14Crazy supercharged his LN3 on his '89 Buick Reatta. Let me find his page...

Here are some small issues he ran into.

He also blew his tansmition after 20,000 miles of driving. So it is not an immediate thing, even though there is a lot more power and strain it will also depend on your driving habbits. Remember it is not superchargers that kill Transmitions, It is lead foots and one wheel wonders that kill transmitions!

I posted another thread recently but it got put in the general board..

After pulling my drivetrain out, I found that the harmonic balancer keyway and key were really chewed up, making maybe an inch of rotational play. We believe this is due to the different balancing characteristics of the rotating assembly. This play threw off the CPS, which threw off everything, and I think it was my issue. I can't exactly test the transaxle.

I'm working on having a custom balancer made that acts like an LN3 but has the additional pulley drive. I intend on keeping the supercharged LN3 though

I looked into getting a supercharger for my 91, but in the end the turbo was easier.
