Sell your SE, and use the money you get from the sale, plus what it would cost you to supercharge it to buy an SSEi.

You can get a FWI from www.intense-racing.com or do a search on this forum for 'rice pipe' or 'ricer pipe' or follow the links in BonneMeMn'* signature.

Allow me to move this to the Performance Forum for you.

Check with ZZP, they developed a kit to mount a M90 on an L36. Although it was made with W-bodies in mind so there might be issues with the alternator being in the way.

will, i respect your opinion, however, you were a little bit rude to him.. he just asked a question and you dismissed it as crap.

BTW, the ZZP kit is available.. but only if they install it... i believe it is 1800, or 1300 if you supply your own blower

No, I didn't dismiss it as crap, not being rude at all. On the way out the door and didn't have much time.

But from a financial standpoint, there'* no argument, and he hasn't bought the SE yet. For another 1000, if you shop around, you can get an SSEi. For another 2k, you can get perhaps an SSEi a year newer.

Sure, it'* expensive but not more spendy than a new car. If there is loan on the car it will be more expensive to roll that loan over because you wont get what you paid for.

It COULD be cheaper to buy the SSEi rather than a supercharging an SE. Remember the SSEi has all those gadgets to drive up cost, and it'* more likely the SSEi was better maintained.

Yes, it'* very possible.

I have a 97 SE that is supercharged...

If you have a junkyard near your place, go down there and ask to look around...you may find a wrecked car that has a 3800 supercharged under the hood in good condition.

I swapped out my standard 3800 for a supercharged 3800 from a Park Avenue Ultra(with fewer miles even), dropped it in, did a little re-wiring work, and now I've got a 97 SE, supercharged.

It runs like a champ, but for some reason there is this almost annoying whine when I accelerate....I'm still trying to work that out

Sure a full swap is possible. It'* been done numerous times. But if this is the intent to begin with, why buy the SE? It'* cheaper to buy the SSEi than to buy an SE and swap. That'* the whole point.

If you ALREADY have the SE/SLE or SSE, and you don't want to part with it, the full swap is really the only viable option, but you better know what you're in for before you start, and have a decent budget.
