Supercharger?

i took my bonne, 96 series 3 to the dealer awhile back, and asked about gettin a supercharger. the guy i talked to said that itd fly, but itd cost between 3 and 4 grand, and itd "blow out my bottom end" - whats that mean? and does the sc put any extra stress on the engine? im about 170000 miles now...

one way the N/A engines and the SC engines differ is the internals. SC engines have forged pistons, forged steel rods and a steel crank. at least according to the 92 bonneville dealer brochure i have here
