I'm wondering what the stock compression is. I thought it was 9.0:1 or is it lower? I'm going to be checking the compression in the cyls when i change out the plugs. Need to know if I need rebuild (I shouldnt at all, but i just want an excuse to pull out the engine and make that sucker smoke).

my car runs 8.5:1 I though SC cars run higher comp

And probably with the air getting shoved in there it more than makes up for the loss of 1-.5 points of compression.

Boosted cars run lower compression, because you are more or less making the compression with the boost. Thats the reason for boosted cars having lower compression. On an N/A engine, you would want to raise the compression, hence getting more power out of each stroke...

Unless you run an extreme form of forced induction...if you know what I mean.

Yes, I know what you mean. I am actually looking into lowering the compression on my stealth for this winter. I plan on running around 28-32lbs of boost in that car, and the stock block most likely won't handle the type of power it will be making. You think you guys are hacking your cars, you should hear about my project. Its project junkyard car... All junkyards parts, shooting for 9'*. It already runs high 11'* with the stock turbos and all for under $5K, including price of car... Oh, did i mention stock tires too....
