Tear into that engine and make it better.

That being said, what could be done to make my engine better?

new bearings and maybe a crank or rods :P

other than that, I'd suggest seriesoneperformance.com

What is actually 'blown' on the engine? You may not even have to pull the engine.

If it does need a total rebuild I would do the following:

Port match LIM
Upgrade to Gen 3 M62 maybe a little P&P
mill heads .030" maybe a little P&P
custom cam or 1.8 rockers
PEMs
3" DP

I think part of that would depend on your budget also Peter.

I'm with you but I wouldn't go past 0.020" on the heads so stock length pushrods can be used. 0.030" will load the lifters too much.
If you wanna go nuts, Turbocharged400sbc has found some oiling mods for the series 1 block.

LIM has been done to 3 cars. Mine went great. Matt'* didn't. Black94SSEi'* seems to be OK.
Gen3 is going to be a trick and may require a Jet PCM. Only one has been tried on a 92.
Rockers will require 94/95 heads, MAYBE late production heads from a 93. Read my new topic in General Chat titled NEWSFLASH.
3" DP? No. That'* custom. Nobody makes one. Possibly one being built this winter with a cutout.

If you are willing to spend about $4,000. you should be able to have it rebuilt provided you do most of the teardown and install yourself.
Sure you could have the whole engine professionally done and it would cost you a lot more, about $8,000.
You could also do the bare minimum and it will cost you about $2,000.

How much do you have to spend on it :?:
