Default SLP CAI

I know this particular CAI looks just like a stock airbox. I was wondering if gutting it would help make more flow. Basically, the box would be cut open to just act as sort of a heat shield. Has anyone tried this at all?

There are many other CAI'* out there that cost more, but seem to be more effective.

SLP may work...havn't had to chance to test it out though. However, I tested out Taylor'* Thrasher intake that he had to customize slighty to fit his car. It wil work on the pre 2000 Bonnies with some slight cutting. Expensive though....

This will be for a GTP. I heard the Wizair and Thrasher were better choices, but if you could gut the SLP , it may act the same.

I was under the knowledge that it was fairly restrictive compared to other CAIs

I have one, and its completely empty other than a small low wall that holds the pcm upright.

Are you pretty happy with it? Does it give the SC a nice whine?

You could definately tell a difference, but i'm moving to an FWI for the ultimate in cool air intake.

Is FWI proven better than CAI on our cars?
