Default Should I be worried???

Alright, here'* how it goes. I got a buddy that has a '95 Mustang (V6) and I can womp him pretty good. Now he is seriously thinking about getting a '01 Mustang GT. The GT has about 260hp and 300 torqe and does the 0-60 in 6.1 (what I found online, could be wrong). I am only running 225+ HP and 270+ torqe with a 0-60 around 7 seconds.

So my problem is he'll most likely be faster than me. This is a problem because I have made sure he "understands" how much faster my car is then his. What I need to know is what it will take to beat the GT. I already plan on adding CAI, 3" high flow exhaust, 2.4 SC pully, and DHP chip (if available). Is this gonna be enough to take on a stock GT? Or will I need more?

I don't know what will be worse. The fact that I know my car won't be the fasting thing on the road or him rubbing it in like I so graciously did to him.

Can always go with NNNAAWWWWZZZZZ or put sugar in his tank.. or pull the parking brake cable.. cut it off so it'* stuck and release the lever so the light doesn't show up.
You should be running close to him... besides.. he has to pay higher insurance.. and trust me.. if a cop happens to be there.. he'll definitely go after the Stang before you. He can then come back and brag about his speeding ticket ha ha ha

Also depends if he gets an auto or a stick. I hope he gets a stick or else he is pretty dumb... Anyways, you will be close but one thing tha really holds you back is that you have the Series I engine plus SSEi'* weigh alot. Weight is what really holds Bonneville'* back from being faster than what they could be.

If you really want to be sure you can beat him, nitrous would be an easy way to do it. Or just learning how to launch your car well will actually be your best bet with those other mods you listed. You need to use the Eaton and low end torque to its full potential.

Let your tires down to 20 psi for the launch.....and if he still beats you, remind him that you still have a HUD, and he doesn't

You got him if he cant hook up.. Who ever hooks up before the other guy should win, If you dont spin tires and he does you should be alright but it will be VERY close... but also take in COnsiederation his GT will be BRAND NEW.. So hes running 100% power You got a 95 right?? so ur bout 90%... Not many ppl realize that or take it into consideration.. But as far as I know if u hook up before him he may only beat ya by a little bit

Is the 01 stang faster than the 02? My wife'* best friend got one last may and i smoked her with a 97 SE. It was stoplight to stoplight. Probably an 1/8 mile and her car is an automatic. Just power to about 1200 to 1300 rpm and nail it.

Well there are a few goodies you can get for the transaxle. I can get you a shifter kit but as usual you will have to wait a bit. If you have rear bags try practice runs with them pumped up. A stiffer rear end will mean less rear sag and more front-end grab. I can also get you a limited slip but I am going to have to shake a very busy bear to get him to get back at me. So if you are willing to spend money (provide honey) I am willing to wake the bear and get it early for you.

Don't wake the bear yet, I have to see how much honey the bee hive is going to put out for a chritmas bonus first. But that said, I was wondering how much power I could get my rebuilt 4T60-e HD up to before I tore it apart. Also, are there other final drive ratios? I saw some on one of the sites but they were listed for the 4t65 and such.

The shifter kit would be good. The stock shift isn't bad but there is room for improvement.

I am almost looking forward to him getting the GT now. As soon as he gets it and we get a chance to "drive reasonbly within the parameters of the driving regulations" NOT , I'll post , win or lose.
