With the Intense PCM, if you leave it in D, it will shift 1-2 at 6000 rpm but if you manually try to leave it in 1st, it will shift at 5500 rpm.
If you leave it in 2nd it will automatically shift to 3rd at 5500 rpm.
but if you leave it in D it will shift at 6000 rpm 1-2 and 2-3.
Is this an INTENSE PCM thing only??? Our SSEi with the stock PCM would just hit the limiter (5800rpm) if it was held in 2nd, and it still hits the limiter (6200rpm) with the DHP...the only gear it panic shifts out of is 1st gear.

Hmmmm.... :? That is really weird. I wonder if there were different trannies they used in '00 that would make this different? Even then it seems like the PCM could override it. I'm kinda confused now... I know it holds in 2nd gear because I remember showing my friend that it would go 102 in 2nd before hitting the limiter. And I'm 100% sure it did it with the stock PCM too because I have it on an autotap log...I wanted to see where the limiter was and it was definately 5800.

He is shifting into 3rd right before the 1/4 mile. . . ...So I could see why keeping it in 2nd would help becuase he would still be gaining MPH instead of shifting. Also you shift at a higher shift point so you get in the powerband quicker.
