But put me down for rockers and a cam. I can be ready when you are.
Not sure which cam to use though. I'm looking for something big, streetability isnt much of an issue but head work is. What kind of clearancing work is really requied to run a .600 lift cam on a series one head. I have a great head shop here that says they can do it but I know price yet :? Im looking for results like a Intense S3 cam or a ZZP XP.
Thanks
Jake
Ill have the money for the cam a week from thursday if your ready

screw it, I'm buying one too. Makes 3 (might be 4, we'll see) so $240.
Mind giving me a few days to work out exactly which one I want? And which ones exactly do you want? Decided on the '62?
Make sure I have this right:
SSEiJake - One set of rockers, One cam (part?), and springs if fairly priced?
Jachin - One cam (part?) and springs if fairly priced?
He offers the upgraded springs, and as it looks at a VERY reasonable price but I'll get more info on that shortly.
I'm shooting off an email soon so if you have any questions ask them now

I'm not in desperate need of these so I can hold out on rockers until there is group. The cam isn't going in imediatlly for me, but I'm still all over this deal.
Now with proper head work....
A 63 cam with rockers, thats about .540" liftish?, it'* possible, right?
Springs... I'll be on, if the price is right, and they can hold up to the beating.
Can ls6 springs be used? What about the modded seriesII retainers people use for those springs? I realize the heads are completely different but are the retainers?
Enough questions?
Jake

LS6 Medium Load Valvesprings:
90# installed @ 1.8", 300# pounds at 1.230, bind at 1.190"
These springs: (if I'm reading right)
135# installed @ 1.7", 275# @ 1.2", bind at 1.03"
These are the suggested springs with the cam. He has already told me the price on the springs but, no bullshit, they were so low I had to re-ask.
No I don't believe ls6 springs can be used, our springs have a different inside and outside diameter. I doubt the retainers either, but I'm pretty sure I can get you a set of upgraded retainers if you so desire.
Any other q'*?

135# springs? damn. Are you guys considering getting a rollmaster timing set? I saw one in the short block package on the first page. You might wanna consider it from all the force those springs are gonna put on the chain/tensioner?
-just curious

mmm...I can't imagine the need for that just from an initial seat pressure of 135#. At full lift its 25# less than the 'medium' load springs. Even with the Comp Cams high load springs I don't recall seeing a suggestion to upgrade the timing chain. 'Nor does this company suggest the need.
Good thought though.
