Looks like a solution, but I plan on a single smooth pipe chrome or painted with a relocated sensor. No hack whatsoever on your job. Very ingenious. Looks like the same dimensions as the newer 1995 series 1. I will also look into providing a heat barrier. I want it to look good and perform well. It also has to be able to be removed easily so that the system can be returned to stock for people who need to smog it. Although the difference is probably small I plan to not have the accordion rubber due to the drag created. I will also offer a good heat shield and I am sure it will be reasonable and very effective. Even better (more effective) than the Thrasher box. Still I don’t have the product finished so time will tell. 9 inch is great but I also want an option for the people with a air pump in the way. Versatility and flexibility is also important.

Talk to the guys at
http://www.3800performance.com/
If they can't help you and there are not any options already available I will be glad to help out. I think the Thrasher box works on your ride. It might require a bit of cutting but once done I understood it looked good and worked well. I could be wrong but I would check around. If there is no option then I would be glad to make a product for the 2000-2003.

You haven't learned a thing from Jeff, have you Ty? NEVER put a date on your own deadlines. You KNOW we're gonna burn you come wednesday when you haven't made any progress.
You'll learn. (even though you're an old dog, and this is a new trick)

Ok I went out this evening and did some measuring and messing. I now have a list for a cheap prototype. I will let you know when the prototype is built. This post is more to annoy certain people than it is for information..LOL

Hey I've got a question for you Speedyguy.
I have a 3" intake already on my Series I, but I just have a K&N style generic cone filter. Any idea what K&N cone filter would fit around my 3" chrome intake (model number)?

I haven’t looked into filer options yet but when I go to get one ill let you know. Basically the Honda intake pipe looks good but I want a perfect fit and I am not sure if it is perfect. All I am going to do is find the company who mass-produces the tube then I’m going to offer it without the cone and offer the cone options separately. I personally believe my biggest contribution to the CAI system will be my system for isolating the cone from the rest of the engine bay. It’* coming along but that I cannot share. I have one company who is going to come out to my buddy’* car and will help me out with selcting the right tube. Tim what was the diameter of the tube you used? Basically am I right to assume it is a bit bigger than your intake? How much bigger? Yours is the look I am after though and I would say as close as I have seen to a good solution so far. Like I said a long time ago I had a guy who would make them for me but he is gone now. You watch it wont be long and companies will be offering this product. Like I say over and over the more united the H body people are the better chance of showing a market and getting larger companies support. I am serious start clubs/groups in your area and then others who are in our situation can help to show we are a market worth providing for. You have a label to work with this is our root.
