what would be the most beneficial wheel for my car if i want to reduce weight while keeping a nice look. mainly, i really want a performance boost.

i know our cars bolt pattern is 5x115 and it seems as if both motegi and enkei (the only 2 i really know about besides american racing) run 5x114.3. ive heard the stories about the 114.3 mods but really, are these the 2 best companies for performance wheels or should i look elsewhere for an actual 5x115

I'm using a set of rims off a 2006 Acura RSX-* which are 114.3 and they fit just fine. The only thing that didn't fit was the center hole, which I had to have bored out. Otherwise, the lug pattern fits just fine and I haven't had any problems yet.

ahh, key word is yet. i knwo somebody will chime in eventualyl with their "near death" experience. but i mean.. seriously.. which type of rim is the way to go?? who makes the best performance/racing wheels?

honestly, your not going to want to spend the money for a lightweight wheel, they are MUCH MUCH MUCH more expensive than your run-of-the-mill aftermarket

would 18x8.5 with 30 offset work? bold pattern 5x114.3

Performance? Sounds like more axial and torsional loading. I wouldn't do 114.3 under those circumstances under any conditions.

what about the 30 offset? is stock 38? 42? 45? what will the 30 offset do like?? ugh

From a pure performance view point you want the smallest diameter that will fit over your brakes. The next concern is bolt pattern and load capacity.

For light wheels look at Enkei, BBS, SSR and, Volk racing. Do not expect to find any under $300 each.

Reality is that unless you drive in a manner that will get you arrested you should not notice the difference.

Stock offset is 42 (or 45). An offest of anything less will push the wheels further out to the fenders. 30 might be a bit too much depending on the width of the rim itself.

I've been on the regalgs.org forum for a while now and a few of them are even using the wheels off a Mustang, which are 5x114.3. Everyone says they're fine and that there really won't be any problem. I drive pretty hard and pretty aggressively. they won't wobble for sure because the center hole was bored out to the exact specification of my hub, and they definitely clear at least half an inch of tread on the bolts before tightening, so there'* no possible way it would wobble or fall off.
