Some people are able to remove their MAF screen with no problems, and others do have problems.

Generally speaking, if you are still using the factory F-duct, you should NOT remove the MAF screen, because the incoming air canl be too turbulent to allow the MAF sensor to provide good readings to the PCM, especially at low engine speeds. This was the main purpose of the screen - to 'straighten' the airflow so the MAF sensor can give accurate readings to the PCM.

If you have replaced the F-duct with something smooth, you should be fine in removing the screen. That's what I recommend.

I like the series II engine swap idea, to0 bad I don't have the m0ney for such a thing. Ty, do you think I could get my series I up to around 2oo HP? :roll: Thats what Im aiming for as far as performance.
