Default RECOMMENDED HI FLOW CAT 2000 SSEI

Hey,
I'm looking into getting Dynomax 17731 Super Turbo Mufflers, 2 1/4..Since I was told they would be the most quietest. I also need suggestion on removing the resonator and running a straight pipe. It'* that a bad idea?
I need to know what would be the correct hi flow cat for my 2000 ssei...My seems to rattle so I rather change it with a Dynomax hi flow converter. My oem is at least 18 inch long will putting a shorter one effect performance?.
Any help or suggestion will be highly appreciated.. Thanks in advance.

who told you those are the quietest?

you are not even close to outflowing your stock exhaust, so if you are doing this purely for performance, you are not going to notice anything...

running a straight pipe in place of the resonator is only going to make it louder and raspier

putting a shorter cat in will not matter

in my opinion, first either get ported exhaust manifolds

and/or a 3" downpipe

and a magnaflow highflow cat

ToastedOats is running w/o a resonator and IIRC didn't notice much of a difference.

as Bill said above, im running no resonator, high flow cat and PEMs on stock mufflers. It is noticeably louder and had a bit of raspiness at higher RPMs, but at daily driving and cruising speeds, it has a pretty nice mellow note to it.

Hey harofreak00,
thanks for the reply and web sights!...I called jegs and they recommended Dynomax 17731 Super Turbo Mufflers stateing they would be the quietest. So are you recommending to leave my stock mufflers on and put ported-exhaust along with the 3" downpipe and a magnaflow highflow cat,do you know the item number on the hi-flo cat?..Also what i want is the car to be as quiet as possible so should i just leave the resonator since it will not make a difference performance?

yes... the cat part number will depend on whether you want the cat before or after the convertion to 2.5" stock piping...

check out ebay for tons of high flow cats

yes, if you want it as quiet as possible, keep the resonator and stock exhaust, they do not create any drastic restrictions until you get well into modifications

Hey harofreak00..I was looking into the site you sent me w body store and I see they have the whole setup 3inch pipe with converter..It does not say what brand converter it is..Is this a good quality/setup for my 2000 Bonneville ssei? The reason I ask is because your opinion was getting a 3" downpipe from hoganperformance and a "magnaflow" highflow cat..So I just wanted to know if getting them separately is better quality.
Thanks.
