Will, your reply piqued my curiousity enough to trudge thru the snow and clean the trunk off, it raised up about and inch in less than a minute and I figured that was enough and turned off, I thank you for informing me and will do as you asked, and call dealer for appointment. Is there a forum post covering your ELC trick? I could definetly use the info.

So if I run wire to two switches put in console, and connect them in a way to turn selector valve of and the air pump on, I could jack the rear end up on demand And on the go? ...for a guy that used to put 4 inch shackles on anything he could find Performance and intimidation for the price of a roll of wire and two swiches makes me grin. Thanx for a great idea and I hope someone has time to explain the valve wiring , the air pump seems easy enough.

It'* not that simple. ELC is smarter than the average bear. After it achieves a 'too-high' ride height, you have to disable the system by pulling the fuse(*). They differ on my cars and yours. If you don't disable it, the system should vent after a short period of time to get you back where you should be.

ELC trick:
Disconnect valve electrical connector so the valve defaults to filling the struts when the inflator is turned on.

Turn on inflator and wait for the rear to raise.

Pull fuses. (fuse 12 on my 93 is the one I pull, I forget which one on the 95).

Another option is to fill your rear struts with Viagra. But this usually means removal of the rear struts. HARDER to do it this way.

I am going to put a 3 switch contraption in the cab to do all this. I'll be able to disconnect valve connector, turn on inflator, and disconnect fuse.

YA it doesnt sound hard to accomplish all three, wired production machinery for years and pretty comfortable with swiches and relays. Could be pulled off with one switch and a couple of relays actualy.

From my experience the car will inflate the suspension if left overnight to proper ride height (or proper height depending on trunk load). If the car was left overnight and the air button is pressed it may lift the car to proper height and then maybe a bit more if snow or something heavy was in the trunk.

Another thing I noticed with the air hose on the car, the car will inflate to full height (allowed by the selector, or fully if the selector is disconnected) before giving full PSI to the hose. The shocks act as sort of an air canister.

Thanks guys will have dealer look at anyway being under warranty and I gotta go there when my GM Pontiac Winshield Logo ans GM mudgaurds come in..
Might just leave it as is, Simple to add auxilary switch to airpump and Car woulnt go to the top. Cant be good to ride around with air struts/shocks/bellows at top of their travel.and the car seems to settle right back down after inflation and drives ok.

Will, I posted problem in the 2000-2005 forum with an explanation and will post that link for readers here to go there to discuss the mechanical issue. Hopes it to your liking , learning more here than just cars.
