I have a friend who has challenged me to a race next weekend. He drives a 2004 dodge neon se, I drive a 1994 bonneville se. So, I was wondering what kind of upgrades I can do to guarantee I win.

Maybe some suggestions of ways to lighten my car would work out well. I am already going to remove my spare tire and jack kit. Any other suggestions for lightening?

Also what kind of suggestions could you all suggest for upgrades to my car. I already have a cai, so that is done. I am looking to spend no more than $300 on this little project. Here are some ideas I have had:

Higher octain gas
Do a tune-up (better spark plugs/wires)
Maybe find a better exhaust

Are there any other suggestions? There is a Pull-A-Part near my house which has a bonneville sse, are there any parts I could take from it and use on my car for better performance? I mean anything that will help me in this race including getting lighter parts and such not.

Seriously, to beat a neon... you really shouldn't have to do anything as long as your car is mechanically sound. Just check the gaps on your spark plugs, check the wires, dont mix high octain gas with cheap stuff, do a look over of your engine to spot things that could cause an issue.

Well, thats good to know that I will already beat him; but, I would like to really stick it to him. What would your suggestions be?
