fuel pump, axles, complete engine and transmissioin, pcm was reprogrammed from INTENSE-RACING, for installation i had to buy a L36 to L67 swap kit from ZZPerformance.

What did the swap kit include?

kyrt320 04-08-2007 07:18 PM

it had two wires to add onto the L36 harness it came with a Supercharger bypass connector and MAP adapter wire. and sorry about the typo. i checked the trottle position sensor. and the wires was hardwired in. as for what the PCM is trying to tell me???? i have no idea. i have no check engine light or service engine light. as far as i can tell the PCM is trying to tell me that everything is fine. but when i start the car it starts up like normal and as soon as it tries to go back to idle it dies out. i was told that it was the fuel pump. i just had it towed from GeorgeTown, TX so i have my car back in my drive way. i have also unplugge almost every connector i can reach and checked to make sure that it was good. and from what i can tell everything is like it should be. so i am drawing a blank here. any ideas or any info needed?

Spark and fuel make fire. You need to verify both. We need to know your fuel pressure at the rail, and we need to know if you're getting spark at the front three plugs during cranking.

Shopping for a scantool yet?

The ZZP swap kit includes an adapter plug to run the 2bar GM MAP sensor, and plug with wiring for the boost solenoid.

And as for the car not running:

Are you setting any security codes? Or lights? Sometimes you won't get one at all.
If so there are a couple things to try
1- do a security relearn
2- disable the security in the PCM (this only tells the PCM not to look for the BCM)

The issue seems like the fuel pump or FP resisitor everytime it happens

This is most common on top swapped vehicles, but once and a while happens on complete swaps.

And to the rest of you that think just because the PCM was reprogramed for an L67, doesn't mean it will read the soleniod. It doesn't matter if it programmed by YOU, me, Intense, ZZP, DHP, ect....It still started its life as an L36 PCM-Make sense now? What he needs is to transfer the same file from his current PCM to an L67 PCM..Or vin changing..
Now if somewhere he did start with an L67 PCM -please show me in this thread, I had to have missed that.

yes at first we used a L67 PCM but when we put it in it did not even start (no injector pulse) we send the PCM back to intense they sent us another one and it still didn't work. but when we plugged in the original PCM for my car it ran. but it ran horribly. so i sent my PCM back to intense and the programmed in the neccessary codes into the PCM.

how do i delete the security codes from the PCM. i know i'm getting fuel. i checked the fuel and i am getting fuel. how do i check for spark (hold on if i'm not getting spark, wouldn't the car not start in the first place even though it is starting just won't stay running?)

I don't have the learn procedure in front of me for anything. They are on my other PC. However I'm sure they are on this site somewhere, everything Bonneville is-lol.

You really need to get a good scanner.

LS1m
PowrTunr
HPtuner

The HPT and PT will give you the ability to reprog. the PCM yourself. A little costly and you need a laptop, but for what you have going either will end up saving you TONS of cash in the long run.

To disable the security with the PT.
Open your .bin file
click-diagnostics
click-security
click-disable_flash_securty
change default to 255
exit-accept changes

No IPW with the L67 PCM? I've only seen that 1 other time, and it was on an 00 Monte. Try another L67 PCM, and have your .bin file uploaded to it. get one from a GP , the GP PCMs seem to be a little more forgiving. Also try running it with a stock unmolested L67 PCM. then disable security.

I hate this my mind works faster than I do on things like this. There are a lot more possibilties. But what I'm posting are the most common problems.

i know the relearn procedure. so try that? but this is what confuses me. when i tried installing the SSEi PCM and the security procedure was required the car wouldn't even try to turn over. so i need to do the security relearn again because my PCM is thinking the car is being stolen? but why did the car initially die while i was driving (i'm sure i said that) well it didn't die it seemed like it went to idle while i was dirving and no matter how muh i hit the gas the RPM would not go up. when i stopped the car died out and did not start back up normally since then. if i did not mention this before i apologize but it happened at 3:00 this morning so i'm running low on gas myself right now.

can i use the LS1M to have the same effect as the HPT or PT?

I agree that it sounds like a classic vats turning off the fuel. Although..I am unsure what your year does to combat theft.

kyrt320 04-09-2007 09:33 AM

ok so any ideas on how to fix that?
