Default Posi trac

I've got a friend with a 96 monte carlo... 3400DOHC, and it has the 4t60-E in it. Now, for some reason this car seems to have posi. Any chance I could go to the jyard and pick up the diff from that car and make a jumble of parts somehow come together to form posi in my 440-T4?

All of our cars with well-maintained transmissions will lay dual stripes off the line.

May I ask what is the exact reason for this? Do we have a lock up Diff?

How does it work?!

How does a posi-trac rear-end on a '67 Plymouth work?!

It just does!

i doubt that his monte has posi..

wouldnt a good way to test for posi be to do a standing burnout and see if both wheels go? cuz then only one should spin...or would they both still go w/ a good tranny and no posi?

Mine doesn't :( One tire fire... but it'* damn near 25ft. Still not acceptable.

The monte lays two strips all the time, and it seems in corners it will lay two strips, but the inside is darker. IDK, I want to see it once side on ice the other on dry pavement... but we're pretty sure it'* posi.
