I don't know how long the wiring pre existed in the console, but on early 90'* you can just plug the shift button in, and it will work. However, perform shift ends up the original behavior, normal makes it less aggressive. SSEi'* seemed to have more aggressive "natural" shifting. If you can tune your tranny with that thing, plugging the switch in may still work to retard your shifting to normal levels after you tune it.

I dunno if this means anything to you, but i went and got the performance shift buttons out of an ssei and plugged them into the harness that was already in my car. The lights in the button switch between performance and normal when you push the buttons, but i can't tell a difference while watching the tach under WOT. My car shifts at the yellow line in either mode.

speedster.....you need to install a PIN in 21 of the PCM and them either use the SSEi pod, or make a switch

FYI your car already shifts in performance mode....

NORMAL mode in an SSEi LIMITS the shift RPM. PERFORMANCE mode allows it to shift as if it were unlimited.

Hang on Speedster...

Pat..which connector did I add that wire into on your car? Blue or clear?

Speedster.. once we know, then it'* a matter of grounding it. I have a few spare pcm pins/lengths of wire hanging around if you want one..just PM me your addy and I'll send you a couple.

You guys are missing something. His PCM could care less about that pin. It'* not programmed on his car.

Secondly, his car is ALREADY in Performance shift. By default.
