Please start a new thread rather than adding to an existing one. I have moved this into its own thread so that you can get better visibility.

The 05 GXP has a locked PCM, so you can't tune for performance.

There are very little engine performance mods out there. GXP Venom has added NOS to his, and he would be the one to talk to about what you can and can't do with your ride.

AEM EMS Stand alone engine management, that step alone is over $1000 and involves rewiring the entire engine. You would also need a transmission computer to go with the EMS, so another $500. Then go from there. This will give you full control over the engine and allow you to make any modifications that you want, but there isn't much of an after market and you would have to fab most anything you wanted to add.

Weren't all the OBDII PCM'* locked at one time? I also have an '05 GXP and would really like to get an upgraded PCM.

Why has no one unlocked this specific unit. Is there something odd about it?

For tuning you might check with this guy or one of the other few -seems N* PCM tuning has become reality over the past few years.
Could really make things interesting... like swapping over to STS heads and PCM .... tuned for 400 HP.

I'm not surprised at the price at all, since they'll be the first to do it.
