Default PEM Questions???

I was wondering if the pem'* from hulkspeed are coated inside and out. Will coating them on the inside and out help reduce the engine bay heat anymore. Is there any provin hp in getting the coated one'* verse the non-coated beside reducing the engine bay heat inturn reducing the IAT temps. The main reason I'm asking is I have a buddy that said he would coat them both inside and out for $75.00 in the thermal black looking coating. But if the gain is very little like less than 5hp I would probably go for the uncoated one'* for now and could get them coated later if my modding goes farther than planned.

I'm wanting the stock look under the hood.

Thanks

Yes, there will be a gain.
The shop I'm having port/coat manifolds for my business, McCoy Motorsports, has been building high power Corvette, F-body and Mustang engines for practically 20 yrs and they claim they are seeing 15-20 HP just from coating (internal and external).
The internal coating promotes more flow, keeps the metal of the manifolds from getting too hot, and promotes a cooler engine bay, which in turn allows your engine to run cooler (how much depends on what'* been coated).
All-in-all I would have to say, yes, the internal and external coating is worth $75.

BTW, are the manifolds ported/will the be ported before being coated?
If not, I can have them ported for $80, but the problem is I don't have any 00+ mani'* ATM for cores, so you would have to provide yours.

Thanks for the feedback. I was looking into the hulkspeed PEM'* and thinking I could get a little better product for less money if I bought the uncoated ones and had my buddy coat them inside and out. Unless somebody who has already purchased some from Hulkspeed can chime in and tell me if they are coated inside and out. How long would the down time be for you to port them. Is the porting job comparible to the others that are offered. Not questioning your skills, I'm just wanting the best bang for my hard worked buck if ya know what I mean.

McCoy Motorsports,
I like the sound. If I buy a 1989 Lincoln Mark VII for $800 as a beater does it have capabilities for speed. A fast beater is always good!

Chiming in. Hulks are inside and out. I'm very pleased with the quality and results.

I chose the black ceramic coating for heat. No one will realize they aren't stock unless you told them. It'* very subtle and looks very stock.

Thanks thats what I was needing to know. It looks like it would be cheaper to buy the thermal coated one'* instead of the bare one'*.

OlBlueEyes: If you could let me know the down time and how you are porting them I would consider your option if it is comparible to the others that are out there. i.e. Hulkspeeds
