hi all, ive been wondering about this for quite a few years but ive unfortunately never found another bonneville like mine so nobody has ever been able to answer my question.
when my car shifts into overdrive the acceleration goes to almost nothing, does that happen in anyone elses car? i have a 1993 ssei with the supercharger if that makes a difference. thanks in advance

it does, i just wanted to make sure that there wasnt something wrong with it, when i push the boost gauge and distance past 0 pounds of boost it kick back into regular drive, i just wanted to make sure that this was normal because ive driven plenty of other peoples cars and their over drive system is always different than mine, thanks for the reassurance
Computer is automatically unlocking your torque converter when it sees X percentage of throttle position. This is normal. Not having alot of power while it is locked up is normal too. Its pretty much direct drive when this happens.
locked in 4th with a 2.97 final drive and 4th being .7:1 comes out to an effective 2.08:1 final drive. to be able to accelerate a H-body with any kind of urgency with that steep of gearing would require a LOT of torque.
