Default newbi need help

today i started to smell a sulfer smell and i was told when that happened my cat(STOCK) is clogged. so im thinkin about gutting it, how would this hurt i know on my friend 3000gt vr-4 we gutted all the cats(3) instead of buying the elminators and a test pipe i have an 88 bonneville LE.

what kinda exhaust mods can i do to get better gains and what aftermarket stuff can i do and where can i get it.

oh another thing what kinda swaps can i do i hate this fwd crap anybody know a way to go rear wheel drive and like mtx instead of atx and bolt up */c motor or a LS1 or sum10 be 1 hell of a sleeper!!!

Well, since your State (and all others) require Catalytic converters dictated by the EPA, and gutting a Cat is illegal (not to mention irresponsible), and you can get the same performance out of a high-flow unit, why not replace it with a performance unit?

And why are you talking about upgrading (swapping motors) in a car you're trying to sell?

Get a high-flow cat and muffler from www.justmagnaflow.com. Anyone that turns you in for gutting your cat will get a reward from the EPA.

its 1 of those backup ideas incase i cant' sell the car. i'lll continue to fix it up and get in tiptop shape and then keep it as a collector its 3 years from an antique.

Collector? It'* value will continue to decline, and more quickly each year. Especially if you modify it.

I think you're going to be disappointed........sorely. Either keep the car or sell it, don't expect to have it gain any value, regardless of what you plan to do with it. It'* an 88. I couldn't get even HALF what I've put into my 93, except maybe here on this forum.
