Default New exhaust from the manifold back

I just had a new exhaust system installed today. I got a flowmaster cat with 3" tubing back to a "Y", off to 2 Ravin stainless mufflers.

This was way too loud, it actually hurt to sit in the car. I had to go back and have a resonator installed just to make it bearable.

Aside from the excessive volume, these mufflers sound really deep and throaty.

I'm really curious to see if your low-end torque suffered. Relieving that much backpressure is generally a bad thing in a 3800. Do a comparison run with a few low-end launches, and check the high end too.

Default You took the words right out of my mouth will!

I thought the same thing about loss of back pressure going 3" with a na 3800.

I'll try to get a sound bite of the new exhaust. With the resonator and the 2.5" from the "Y" back, the low end seems fine. I probably sacrificed some low end torque, but the noticeable hp gains seem to offset that quite nicely.

Cool. Glad you went with 2.5" at the Y. Most of your power will be at the higher revs instead of the lower revs now. If that'* a trade you were willing to make, sounds like you did a good job of it. Can you get a pic of the routing?

I'll try to get some pics of the car (incl. the exhaust) as soon as my "Minister of Finance" lets me get the digital camera I have been looking at.
