If you just got an SE, then you want to restore lost performace before trying to add.

Check and Replace accordingly......plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter, PCV valve, belt and check/change your fluids before attempting to gain any performance. (Many will recomend flushing the cooling system to get rid of the dex, and replacing with prestone mix with any color).

After that...#1 180* Thermostat...#2 you could think about gutting your airbox and dropping in a K&N or getting a fenderwell intake from intense racing...#3 Next in line might be a pcm... but that would most likely break your budget...

The gear heads will be sure to follow up shortly...

Techinfo (link at the top of the page) is always a good place to start.

I've already got new air filter, plugs and wires, but about the 180 degree thermo, do you no any sites, or any place that sells that for the 93 se?

not a whole heck of alot you can do with a budget like that. but to keep it basic, a CAI is a good place to start.

Lose 5MPG? NO. They will drop running temps and help prolong life of the car. Please dont spread info you dont know about.

The only Bonnevilles here that lose MPG'* from a thermostat change are those that have another problem.

There'* been maybe 5 cars in the last 5 years and 5000 members that have had a problem with it.

The other 2500+ cars here that have switched to a 180 have seen no change in fuel efficiency, so let'* discuss what we actually know to be the case from experience and research.
