We recently bought a '94 SSEi and it'* great except for two things:
- after it has been driven awhile, the check engine light comes on once you stop and idle (like at a red light). Turning the motor off and restarting the car temporarily "solves" the problem until you stop again and idle for about 30 sec or so.
- the small lights on the touring ride and performance ride buttons are BOTH on while the car is running. Pushing either button has no effect on the lights.

There were no modifications on the car, and we've not done any - but are considering a performance chip (don't know which), and some mufflers (leaning towards Dynamax Ultraflow).

You need to retrieve the code and tell us what the check engine light is saying. The CCR struts are letting you know that one of the struts has malfunctioned. I believe there are also CCR strut codes that are stored, but I would need the 94 service manual to let you know for sure.

Reps from Superchip and Fastchip have told me that both '94 and '95 SSEi do not have chips available.

When i called superchip they had a SSEi chip.

But you really want a free flowing intake and exhaust before you get a chip. Check the Thread in Vendors for the ADTR intake which is a great buy. Exhaust we can help you on later.

they dont carry and wont burn one for a 95 SSEi. I am in the process now of trying to get one custom burned from a fella that responded on the BC a couple weeks back. I;m buying a spare chip from the dealer, shipping it to him in California, and he is gonna burn it for me. I'll let you know how it comes out before i would suggest to anyone to do it. (300+$)
that reminds me, i need to call the dealer, i ordered that chip last Tuesday!

How much did that set you back? I'm thinking of getting an extra to send to ASE for a burn.
