Default Muffler question.

Well, my next mod on my car is gonna be a new muffler and tips. I know what kind of tips i want for it, and pretty much what muffler too. So i was wondering about how much horsepower would i gain from a new high flow muffler and possible a new high flow cat?

What about a 3-inch cat-back system?

Even less. Way too big. The fastest cars here are all running 2.5".

-5 - 10. You'll lose, too little backpressure. If you cat was in crappy condition, it may be more than 10, but technically you won't be gaining.. just kinda getting back. You may gain more hp/tq from porting your header crossover[*]. However, that is quite a bit of work. You'll like the gain from the muffler+cat. Go with that, and you can always go for more.

Hi-flow cat and muffler. But having a 92, you may seriously consider having a resonator installed. That'* going to be a raspy, loud exhaust when you're done if you don't.

I can't tell you on installation, as I got smokin' deals all the way through. I have all 3 components Magnaflow now. Very happy with it. My resonator is 24", and I had it installed after the cat.

If I had to do it again, I'd buy a Cat/Resonator combination. They come in one piece now. The intermediate pipe is literally all resonator now. Sucker is long. Almost didn't fit:

How much did you gain with the combo you did? You just put in a resonator, high flow cat, and a muffler? Was this expensive, how much(if you dont mind me asking)?
