I have been working on my 97 SSE since I bought it a year ago. I have put a Camaro ProFlo exhaust system on and mainly paint, CA intake, wheels, and vynal as far as mods go. I am starting to get serious about performance now. I have about $500 to work with and I want to make her fly! I can't afford a turbo or a SC, but I might be able to get ahold of a turbo from an old GM V6 from my uncle. Where should I go with this? First thing I am doing is upgrading my front rotors and pads. Any suggestions on what I can do to the motor? Also i am working on a "Maytag" (lol) induction sys for my CAI! I know Intense has some kits out there, but I don't know jack when it come to the technical bs! Feel free to give me urls and as much info as poss! Thanks!

If your serious, the best mod you can do for power under 500 is rockers. Either look for 1st gen 1.9:1 rockers in the Car parts for sale on clubgp.com or grab some new 3rd gen 1.9'* from INTENSE. There are few threads running on this and the supporting items you may need. If you want a little more pep for cheap without doing major engine work you can wait for INTENSE to get the 97 SSE PCM'* done (should be soon) and grab one of them for 180 bucks. Intake and exhaust mods may help you a little bit as well and should probably be in place beofre major engine mods.

Your wasting your time and money on trying to go fast in a Bonneville. If you want to go fast go build an older Trans Am, Firebird, Grand prix any rear wheel drive with a real Horsepower motor. Please, done get me wrong, I love my Bonneville it'* a beautiful ride and ya maybe you can add some HP but, Race cars they are NOT. 14 sec quarter mile times for some Bonneviilles on this site are SLOOOOOOWWWWWW !!!! Build a real race car and enjoy some fast times. If you can break into the low 10 sec times to high 9'* in a street car you have done a very good job......

Sellncars I respect your opinion but I want help with mods not an @*% who wants to take up my page and argue! I have seen many Bonnevilles race and GP'* and yes they can go fast! Racen v6s are a whole different ball game than v8s there buddy! So please find someone else 2 mess with. Not everyone wants a Rustang or rear drive car to race. I want to try something different! There are some cams made for the NA 3800 if you are really serious about power. They are more agressive than the rockers, but you may end up spending more in the long run.
