Has anyone ever done this? You'd think that a tranny from one of the 3.4s or something could be custom made to fit onto a 3.8. A 5-speed would just be so much fun in a bonneville. It'* a shame that they never made it an option

3.4 tranny is different than the 3.8

No, both are 4t-60e'. So are fiero, and the such.

A gertrag 5-speed could be adapted for the right price. I think it would cost way too much money, even if you could do the fab work yourself.

You'll need the shifter linkage for it, a clutch setup, but the custom PCM will be the hardest part.
