yes you can adapt airbag to the 96 in your case...
BUT you can get lowering springs from www.coilsprings.com ....there have been 2 members that have done it had had no problems

I would prefer airbags because of the adjustability. Speed bumps and some parking lots wouldn't be a problem then. Lowering springs (depending on severity) limit where I can go around town.
