Car also idles low and stutters a little when first started up and at idle, not saying coil packs will fix this just replacing old parts before winter gets here
Hmmm. Well, if you feel they are absolutely needed. I had a 94 Camaro with original coil packs on it and once I threw some new plugs and wires in it, it ran great. As far as my experience is coil packs either work or don't.
I would replace them WHEN they go to crap. You could get unlucky and get a set that fail in 6 months. Granted they'll be covered under warranty, but you'll still be inconvenienced. Just my opinion.
The coils on the 95 Regal were still perfect at 217k miles. However, if you absolutely feel that you 100% need a new set of coil packs,. I have two complete sets that I would sell you for cheap so you would have plenty of spares, and with the correct spark labels on them as well (not like it matters).
Coils aren't a preventative maintenance thing. Transmission fluid changes, oil changes, and replacing of gaskets that are known to be problematic are preventative maintenance. Coils however often last 300k+ miles unless something wrong happens.
If you want me to send you a set of coils, I'd be more than happy to sell them to you for what I got them for at the junkyard, since I no longer need N/A 3800 coils.

I just changed plugs. The AC Delco are EXPENSIVE @ $8.95 a piece but the parts guy said they'll last 100000 miles. With 195975 miles let'* see if the Bonneville will last that long.
