Forget the rebuild, or do a compression check first before you decide. For 2 grand, we can make you a good bit quicker, but you'll need a contingency fund for your trans considering it'* age and miles.

I'll give you a 1.5 second head start and then spot you 2 carlengths at the 1/4 for pinks.

haha like i said, my cars stock :P
i'm going to be buying a 95 buick riviera in a few months, a friend of mine is holding onto it for me. thats just got the series I 3800 supercharged. but i think i'll just keep that one normal.

or i could always just buy an older muscle car! my x girlfriends dad was selling a plymouth fury 3 for 2000, and he had a 383 in it. hes got a ton of nice older cars like that, all dodge

The Riviera is heavier than your Bonneville, has less PCM support aftermarket, and has no stock boost gauge.

Do you want help with a Riviera, a Dodge, or your SSEi? State your intentions.

the bonneville!
^_^
so where/how exactly would i get any performance parts?

K&N doesn't make a cold air intake for it, and all the parts stores i've gone to can't find one in the books. i'd asume getting one for a grand prix would work, since its the same... everything... right? but that doesn't do THAT much, but anything would help

Unfortunately alot of the parts for the Grand Prix will NOT work on your Bonneville because although it may share the same engine the body styles are different.

Here'* a general list, consider bold items first on your list:

Heads from a 93-94 L27 or 93-95 L67 (allow aftermarket roller rockers)
scan tool capable of displaying realtime parameters
1.8 ratio roller rockers from ZZP, you'd want fresh valve springs to avoid float or breakage
high flow cat from magnaflow
PEMs (DIY or pm oldblueeyesbonny (sp?))
custom CAI, search ricepipe
2.3" pulley from pulleyboys (if they still have them, they have new management)
aux tranny cooler
chip and matching thermostats from Hypertech or Jet (Jet will require direct contact with a sales rep)
new fuel pump or Walbro
properly working O2 sensor AC Delco only

if you feel like going in a tricky direction:
94-95 supercharger (has epoxy coated rotors to be more efficient) and use your original pulley
95-95 TB with its MAF sensor (it'* bigger)
AFPR from Intense (or mini AFC from ZZP but it can be flaky)

fresh fuel pump and AFPR or miniAFC are a must if you get the 94-95 SC/TB

TB/SC/LIM polishing can be done but do your research here before you cut into anything

This is just a list of possibilities. Consider proper spark plugs very important. Bosch anything is bad. NGK has good stuff for us. Get a scantool and look for KR, you don't want any. Get your fuel pressure tested at idle and WOT.
