That is for use only with gasket matched heads. Not to mention you could do that work yourself for much less.

You want to match your LIM ports with your head ports if you have stock heads. There are a few threads here about doing just that.

95naSTA, are you sure that's matched to the gasket and not to stock head ports? All it says is "port-matched." You should contact the vendor and get that clarified, roadtech195.

I'd say $150 (plus say $25 to $30 for a junkyard core, plus shipping) is not too bad a deal, considering that cleaning, porting and polishing a LIM yourself--especially if you've not done it before--is easily a 4 to 6 hour job.

I was offered the same LIM when I got my heads off him. So, yes, I'm pretty sure.

He's a Milzy customer and ran their cylinder heads. Milzy is known for their head work. I'd not be too surprised to see their LIM's matched to THEIR head porting rather than to stock heads.

Guess that answers that...I wonder if one could request that Milzy match the LIM to stock heads?

Why not do it yourself for the cost of the LIM from the wrecker?

Will, to be honest I would love to do it myself, or at least give it a try. But time is an issue for me. The old lady and me work opposite hours just about all the time so I try to give her what little free time I get. She gets jealous if I take to long to wash my car :lol:

It'll take you longer to swap it on the car than it will to port it.

Not necessarily. I consider myself pretty quick with a wrench/air tools and I spent longer porting a manifold than swapping. Say 3 hours to port and have it turn out right, about 2 hours for most to swap it onto the car.

In my opinion when the porting is being done, it's better to take the time and do it as meticulously as possible.
