One flaw that i've heard of in the L67 is that the pinston rings are really close to the top of the piston causing them to explode under boost.
I can't remember where i read this but the article had pics of it.
Haven't seen too many blown up pistons though.

That worries me. It'* usually the corroded fuel lines over the */C that ignites correct?

the only reason for some one to replace the engine is for the failed upper intake not because of the bottom end giving out

if the upper intake is taken care in a timely manner thats the reason they will replace the engine due to coolant in oil wiping out the crank bearing in a heart beat

you are correct but most of the people that drive there cars never check the coolant untill its too late

this is what the shop that replaced my engine told me that happened to mine. That coolant had gotten into the motor and that is what cause it to go. But i dunno it had 110,000 on it and was fine and then one day i pulled out of my driveway and pop. But all together it is the best car i have droven and the motor is excellent in my opinion. I strongly recommend this cars to everyone. Trying to talk to girlfreind into getting a GTP but she wants one of those Acrua RSX'*. BUt like i said we dont know anything about them so get a 3800 .

I noticed a small amount of oil coming out of my rear valve cover. The engine has almost 90,000 miles, so things are bound to go bad. I'm gonna replace the front and rear valve cover gaskets just to be safe. Other than that, there are no problems with the engine.

Since you will have them off, it'* a good time to do the rockers & springs.
