Default TB Spacer

Does anyone have a throttle body spacer installed?

The only experience I have had with them is diagnosing coolant leaking into the motor and causing cars to run badly. The gaskets etc seem to have issues over time and are more unreliable than worthwhile.

If you would like to stop the flow of coolant, I'd suggest plugging the ports in the LIM.

However if you look at the amount of coolant that flows into the TB, it'* such a small amount that plugging or not plugging, sppear to have no effects overall unless you live at the North or South Poles.

I blocked the coolant passages on the LIM. I was interested in one for the KR lowering claim.

If your coolant is already blocked, the only thing you'd gain is maybe not transferring heat from the SC to the TB by them having a plastic block between them.

To me this is negated the moment you stop for a light. The TB warms the little it'* going to and there'* no gain in my opinion. If you feel the need to try it..at least buy it used for less money off some other guy who is dumping it because it leaked or didn't work as advertised.

IMO a TB spacer is not beneficial

I have on and I would say its not worth much at all in terms of KR reduction, when you are moving slow in traffic or even just driving though town everything in the engine bay heat soaks, IAT'* will normally be 100* if it is 50~60 outside, once I get on the highway and hammer down on the gas the IAT'* drop because the air going through everything cools the intake throttle body and supercharger down. When I am on the highway and using more throttle IAT'* normally stay around 5 degrees hotter than outside.

With all of that said, if you want to keep your throttle body and intake system cooler, just floor it.

IMO, not worth the time or cost. Another fantastic claim by the same people that bring you the TB heat shield and claim it gives 4 more HP. Total BS.

Only if you can tune for that porting. The spacer claims to reduce heat in the throttle body.

IMO it'* better to get a different TB. Most of us don't have the ability to port a TB and make it better than a N* TB. An adapter, N*, maf, a tune and then you are all set for any level of mods.
