Now that i look back on it, i needed an N/A pretty much (insurance) and 93 was the best year.... No crossover PCM, no intake failures, and i have an EGR... 93 owners unite! (wouldn't have gotten my silly SLE package with that paint code, and that muffler either....)

The LN3 is something special, the only V6 that pulls like a V8 (for its time) and needs very little mods to get the most out of it.

I miss the engine

I could really use a chip, and probably some head gaskets :?

Do you think I should bother replacing them? ( the gaskets )

Head gaskets? Did you run the car super hot and kill the head gaskets? Or are we talking Vlave cover gaskets here?
My mother has driven the car half its life, and she never pushed it.

I dont run it that hard. For some reason it smokes white smoke, always no matter the temperature. I dont know whats up. I was guessing it was the H.G

After reading a very written page on GM'* TPI system, I have realized after 4800, not matter what mods, my engine will never peak higher than that. The fuel system lacks the ability to distribute a proper mixture at higher rpms, and it chokes the engine, which is why all of the L27'* are rated stock at 4800 rpm for peak HP.
So...if you want to make power at higher RPM'* there is a very simple fix, UPGRADE THE FUEL SYSTEM. If it is the fuel system that is lacking as you said, then there isn't much it could be. Either the fuel pump doens't pump enough, the injectors don't flow enough, the regulator doesn't allow enough pressure, or the programming in the computer sucks. So, if you can fix whichever problem it is, and then put rockers and/or a cam in it the peak power should go much higher, into the 5500rpm range. As long as you put in stronger valvesprings and pushrods and such the engine should easily be able to handle 5800-6000rpms. It isn't much different than the L36. There is also the possibility that maybe the intake doesn't flow well enough to make power higher, but then it also can only be a few things. (the actual air intake, the throttle body, and the intake manifold) I have had some ideas for my sisters car, but since it is my sisters car I have never got around to trying any of them out, and probably never will. (especially since she told me she didn't want me to mod her car)

Jet still sells a chip for your car.
Does Jet sell a chip for a '93 Olds 88 by any chance. My sister has it, and it just seems to be lacking power at certain times, and I think I chip would do wonders.

(I hate those Series II covers..)
So, take it off. Looks 100 time better that way. The L67 looks millions of times better without the cover, cause you get to see the pretty M90. (or M62 in the Series I case)

Does this white smoke smell like coolant or oil? You may be having Valve stem seal, and or valve guide trouble....
How can I figure out what the problem is?

I dont know what coolant smells like, and it isnt black so it isnt oil.
