Default K&N issue drop in filter

hey all

the other day the service engine light went on, not service vehicle. I came to the club and did some HW. either way i knew i was sending the car to the shop.

came back saying my intake sensor was covered in the oil from my K&N drop in filter i put in the box

anyone else have this, or is my bonneville special?

We have not had any issues with our drop in :?

Did you oil it, or just buy it and drop it in? If you cleaned it and re-oiled it, is it possible that you may have over oiled it?

When I got my Intense FWI last year the included K&N cone filter was pretty oily. I didn't think much of it but it killed the MAF sensor but I had a few extra sensors lying around so that wasn't a problem. I had my problem inside 200miles, 7k is kind of extreme I would think there wouldn't be as much oil on the filter at that point.
