what does adding the drop in air filter do for performance? I mean there is no cold air intake for the gxp so would adding the k&n drop in filter do anything for performance? its expensive if it does nothing to boost performance.

you could always go with an Intense FWI.....while its not listed in the applications, the Body is the same, and as long as you know the size of the TB you should be fine

anyway the freeer the air can flow the better, im not sure of the GXP Airbox can be gutted, but that might gain you some also

A drop-in will net you about 5hp. I'd suggest drilling a couple holes in the airbox as close to the front of the car as possible. If you do that, you'll feel it.

seriously 5hp from just adding a filter? will drilling the holes void my warranty? I'll get pics of the air box in the morning. I looked on intense website for the fwi but I'm not sure that will work on this engine. does anyone else have that setup on a gxp?

The Intense FWI kit may not work on your car, Id venture to guess that you have a larger throttle body than the 3800 Series of engines, so their pre-fabbed 3.5 inch tubing kit may not work.

Keep in mind though that anything is possible, and that Intense does sell tubing so you can make your own.

Dont let the fact you dont have a pre-fab kit scare you off, if you look, you wont find a kit for the 3.5 Intrigue either, but Ill be darned if I dont have one.

Get familiar with your engine bay, so whats possible, where you can run tubing, where you cant, how big is everything, that kinda thing.

INTENSE will know what to do with the GXP FWI. The owner had one for awhile.

I recommend the AMSOIL Ea Nanofiber Air filter over the K&N. They're oiless, easy to clean trap way more dirt, and cost a lilt over 1/2 I think the price of a K&N.

Great advise guys. I'll take some pics later of the engine bay, I don't know a whole lot about engines and stuff so I'll be relying on you guys a lot . I just wonder if you can prefab a kit how come some of the gxp owners on here haven't done it? or have they and I'm just missing it either way I dont wan ridiculous hp I just wanna be around 300 hp 300 tq
