Default Just installed my Intense PCM

I got in on the Intense Standard PCM sale earlier this month, and finally installed the thing Saturday afternoon. Boy did that car wake up! The first thing we noticed was a little deeper exhaust note, along with a little more lope in the idle which we attributed to the advanced timing. We took the car out on the streets to get it warmed up (it was only a little over 20 degrees outside) and filled with 93 octane, then let 'er rip. Acceleration throughout the rpm range is markedly faster, and shifts occur at 6000 rpm as advertised. The engine is also a little louder in general. The shifts definitely snap a little more firmly, and the car now has the ability to push you back in the seat pretty good. The most fun seems to come when you floor it from a 20-30mph roll-on. It'* really in the powerband at that point.

After shipping and the $50 charge for being a '97, everything came out to about $160. It'* one of the best Christmas presents a guy could get! My only concern is my amount of torque converter slip. It seems like the power should be more immediate, so I have to wonder if my converter is on the way out the door. I'll have to find somebody with a scantool that can monitor tranny components. My other concern is the dogbone under the car. Mine is shot, so I'm probably getting more fore/aft engine swing than I should be. Anybody know a part number or a place to get one that'* higher quality than stock?

Your car never pulled from a 20-30 mph roll on? Even mine does that.. and my car has problems.. too many to mention.

The not-so-immediate power you talk about.. that sounds like the tranny is downshifting, perhaps? Although, you could probably feel that. If it were a Torque Converter issue, wouldn't the engine rev up a little, and then the car would pull.. versus a second or two delay before the power kicks in? That'* my understanding on transmission slip.

Cool Man! I think his did pull from 20-30, because mine did, but with the PCM it keeps pulling a lot longer then a regular car...obviously with the 6k shift point.

I think an L67 would pull great from a 20-30 roll, but it just didn't do it the way you would expect.

OSG, these cars do feel very fast, but just wait till you get some fun cars under your belt like a v8 pony car, etc.

Mine pulls like crazy from 25 or 30. The tranny grabs and pulls hard.

If I go 15mph, with a little throttle, sitting at about 2500rpm [ish], then floor it, I can sometimes chirp the tires. Don't ask me how. I can barely chirp the tires from a standstill, so I don't know how this is possible, but I don't ask questions. So, yes I too have that 25-30mph pull.. except my first gear maxes out at 42.. 45 if I push it to 5200 [I don't like doing that, engine sounds like ****]. I could just imagine you */C guys.. but hey, at least I can put 87 octane in my car *laughs all the way to local gas station.*

What speed does 1st max out at, for you guys?
