Great work on the wall to keep the engine heat away. I would strongly suggest you replace the air filter with a K&N filter. Yours looks like on of those filters that has been known to hold water ( Poor flow ).

The surface area of that filter is also very unlikely to be able to support your flow. It looks a bit less than a stock OEM replacement filter.

Default CAI specs

Just wondering if you could post some of the technical data on exactly what you did to make your CAI. What was is wall and tubing made of? How much space does a CAI need to draw enough air to be effective and not restrictive? Did you make your wall so that the top of it just hits the bottom of the hood and did you put a rubber piece on the top to seal it better? Any and all information would be very helpful! Thanks!

Here is a fresh air director I made to help out with a lil more directflow up towards the filter.
I used the flextube from the kit I bought, zip ties from kit, and the scoop peice that directs air over the PCM in my stock air box. Had to modify the scoop by cutting it so it would be more parallel to the ground, but other than that it was cheap, easy. Dont have any IAT sensor #'* but it "feels" a lil more responsive while moving.

Heh, that looks like the same kit i got recently at pepboys. same filter and everything. However i do want to know how you painted it. did you just prime and paint it or did you prep the surface and go at it? Looks a heck of alot better than mine. And i got mine for 40-45$! you got a great deal man!
I also took that flex pipe and ran it from the lower portion of the bumper up behind the headlamp. I had to mash it down a little to get it to fit. Works well i guess. After driving around the filter will be warm but the end of it will be cool to the touch.
