It's time... 2000 Impala LS build up
I wouldnt talk to intense about a turbo lol, thats my opinion though. If i was going to go turbo, i would shoot a email to Matt M over at stattama. He makes the kits for zzp and he is a very good person with alot of knowledge. Trust me on that. But on a side note.... i was almost 100% sure i was going to go turbo and the more i talked and heard different peoples opinions i am 100% sure i want a M90 now.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that I'll go with a */C, either a top swap or a whole swap. If I can find an L67 for cheap, I'll probably hit it. The O2 simulator was added because I heard that the clearance causes a flow issue? idk...
So what should I do with my exhaust? Looking underneath, the exhaust looks pretty damn restrictive, but what do I know?

Get rid of that U-bend for sure.
You should have 2.25 inch piping I THINK. Which you might consider replacing with 2.5 inch for the L67 or possibly 3 inch. Im not sure if that setup would be flowing enough for 3 inch or not. The Bonneville gods will have to give more input.
A turbo L36 would be cool just for the uniqueness factor, but its also probably more expensive.

U Bend will be the first thing to go, after the tranny. After talking with TJ, I've realized I have a lot to mull over... Really, I have to decide if I wanna keep this as a DD or not...
What is your opinion? Can I use a 12-13 second car (L67) as a DD?

If you want to go "on the cheap", so to speak...if they are of higher-flowi, go with the Impala or Monte Carlo SS exhaust (supercharged variants). If you want to upgrade your suspension, look into factory 9C1 pieces.
My suggestion to you, and you can take it for what it'* worth, is to do mods that will not break your budget. First start off with mods that will work equally as well in a supercharged envirnoment as they would in its current state (exhaust is a good example), so you won't have to purchase things over again if you change your mind. Go the maximum possible with your factory comopnents, and don't upgrade pieces because of peer pressure
You could also try a P&P LIM first. This is a relatively low-cost option that does yield positive results. BTW...when you got this car, did you purchase a warranty with it? Because that warranty will become null and void if you go into that engine and change things around.

Pete..to keep costs down..one of the best things you can do is save money and watch a bunch of boards where the parts you want would be found. Know your prices and take the best prices when they come around. It'* more time consuming and you'll end up with part B before you have part A ...but when costs are an issue..demodding sales are your friends.

Seeing that you're still unsure about whether to keep it as a DD or all out car, I suggest you really look at the car and tell yourself "Do you really see yourself keeping this car for a quite while?" Then ask yourself "Do I want to make this a DD or an all-out car?"
Personally I think you need to make the Impy a nice DD with some nice small mods and nice rims. And buy a toy car like a older SSEi and go all out on that car.
I was in the EXACT same situation, I wanted to go all out on Stargazer then I didn't so I asked myself those questions.
Just a thought to share with you, that'* all.
However, I say go turbo.

Concerning the above posts, and after reading up on some of the 13-second cars, I believe that I can build this up while having it as a daily driver. If something breaks, I'll fix it, haha. L67 swap is the way I'm going. For sure. No doubt, haha...
(my reasons, correct me if I'm wrong)
1) You can make power with a supercharged car without sacrificing gas mileage (that much)
2) Mods a-plenty, and VERY easy horsepower gains
3) whine
So, I'll be watching auto auctions and putting an e-mail into Ed Morad for a full L67 swap. For the time being, I'm taking Boosty'* and Sandrock'* advice and starting with the simple things.
Also, one more thing (that no one has answered :P), what should I do about the tranny? Keep in mind that my tranny has a solenoid issue and slips into gear sometimes and needs to be rebuilt, like, soon

When I get a chance to go back out there, the Orlando LKQ had a few 9C1 Impalas out there. Springs and sways are about the only things salvagable from them, though I scored a full set of rims and center caps for less than 35 bucks.
Let me know if you want me to go take a peeksie.
