Default intercoolers?

Has anyone added an intercooler to their SC? Or would it even be worth it?

Yes. It makes a huge difference. For L67'* there are a few kits. www.zzperformance.com has two kits, www.intense-racing.com sells at least one kit, www.w-body.com sells a kit as well. There may be more than that but if you start at those you should get some good info. They typically give a 30-50hp gain.

honestly its not the intercooler iself that "adds" HP, its the ability to drop pulley sizes, add timing..... that actually help.

If your car is running good (no KR and so on) then cances are an I/C by itself wont show much for gains. but if you are seeing lots of KR then an I/C will prolly help you out greatly.

Which currently can't be done until the intercooler is added.

What year do you have? 92-95 don't have an intercooler available right now. 96+ have a handful of options from the dealers listed above.

Can you put your year and trim level in your signature?

Obviously the intercooler itself doesn't add the power, but the whole point of getting one is so that you can drop pulley sizes and add timing and whatnot to add power. And the kits that are available allow you to drop enough pulley sizes to gain 30-50hp without doing any other modifications to your car. Obviously if you just throw an intercooler on there without adding any boost then you won't be adding any power, thats a given and shouldn't even have to be explained.

I agree to a point, but some people think just bolting it on is going to give them more power. And its not alway * the case.
