Default Intake Pipe size

How big should the pipe be for the intake. I am trying to make a custom intake. is it 2.5" or 3"

try a 3inch with a good filter like K&N

3" is perfect. 4" is too big, 2.5" too small. Hector spent alot of R&D time figuring out the best diameter.
